Hi my name is Kaela Dionne and I am from Westerly Rhode Island. I have decided to major in elementary school education, due to my past experience with children. During my senior year of high school, I participated all year in an internship at an elementary school. I worked one on one with children in the second grade, and it definitly made my love for teaching grow. I teach 25 hours a week at my karate school, and I have been working at Ichiban for four years. I have been running our summer and vacation kids camps, and this summer I ran four camps in part with sylvan learning center working on academics as well as karate. I currently run our youth and pre-school programs as a head instructor. Teaching and working with children at karate has definilty aided in my decision towards a future career with children.
Besides working and and academics, I am also very active. I ran cross country, track and indoor track throughout high school. I have been taking karate for almost 11 years, and I am currently training for my third degree black belt. I have performed in Disney twice with our demonstration team, and I am on a regional competition team.
